US Secretary Jaishankar, Pakistan speaks with PM Sharif; Stress urge D-Susculation | Bharat News

New Delhi: U.S. Secretary of State Rubio spoke with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif late on Wednesday night, urged “de-skelett tension” between the two countries. He asked Sharif to condemn the Pahgama attack, which has sour the relationship between the two countries.
“State Secretary Marco Rubio today spoke to Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar. The Secretary expressed his grief for a lost life in a terrible terrorist attack in Pahgam, and confirmed his commitment to cooperate against the United States terrorism. He encouraged India to work with Pakistan.
During his conversation with Sharif, Rubio emphasized the importance of condemning the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April and asked Pakistani authorities to fully cooperate fully supported what he described as “this unconscious attack”.
He further urged Pakistan to urge India to reduce stress, restore direct communication channels and join India in efforts to maintain regional peace and stability in South Asia.
However, Sharif accused India of being engaged in “escalatery and stimulating behavior”, according to a statement from Islamabad.
According to Sharif’s statement issued by his office, “India’s provocation will only work to distract Pakistan to defeat terrorism”.
In view of the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, the lives of 26 citizens were claimed – most of the tourists – and have left many injured, ceasefire violations by Pakistan along with the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack by Pakistan -backed militants has triggered a range of strong counters from India.
In response, the government has taken several diplomatic and strategic steps, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, closing the integrated check post in the attic and moving forward to reduce the strength of the higher commissions. Additionally, the armed forces have been provided with complete operational freedom to determine the nature and time of a suitable response.
