Dhoni clarified that while his father was never abusive, his presence alone was enough to keep young Mahi in line. “My friends will climb the walls in the colony, but I never dared. If my father sees, we have gone! We never knew what the results would be, but we were still scared.”
The 43 -year -old also reflected on the simplicity of life in Ranchi. “There was no insecurity in life. Everything was the same – the same routine, no mobile phone, no showoff. There was a comfort in that parity.”
Dhoni is known for his love for challenges, “If we win matches without any drama and I do not get batting, I am happy. I just want to win India. Who scored runs, who took wickets … I am not upset.”
