Director Karan Singh Tyagi, in an interview with the film Shilmi, addressed the controversial phrase. At the trailer launch event, Akshay Kumar was asked about the use of derogatory language in the film. In response, the actor focused on another striking line used in the film, saying “Yes, I used the word. But it is surprising that you have paid attention to it, yet the ‘you are still a slave’, the phrase was not considered a big insult. I think it could not cause even greater insults.”
Kesari Chapter 2 also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Pandey. The film was released in theaters on 18 April.
