National Herald Case: Congress workers detained the ad charge sheet against Gandhi; The party cries Vandeta, BJP misused the fund. Bharat News

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Wednesday detained several Congress workers protesting outside the All India Congress Committee headquarters on 24, Akbar Road. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) staged a protest after filing a charge sheet in the National Herald case, in which the names of senior party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were the prominent accused.
Defected protesters were protesting against the “politically motivated” move by the Center to target opposition leaders using investigating agencies. The ED filed a complaint of prosecution at the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
Congress leaders speak
The protest, which took place in front of the Congress headquarters, saw participation from several senior leaders.
Former Rajasthan Deputy CM, Sachin Pilot said, “We have been looking at the matter for a long time. There is no transaction, no transfer of property, no asset. I do not have full faith in the judiciary. It is only being done to divert public attention. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will have to fight legally and politically.
Congress MP and President of Minority Cell Imran Pratapgagari said that the charge sheet time was suspicious. “You have to understand the chronology – Rahul Gandhi is in Gujarat, Bihar elections are coming, BJP is nervous about Assam, and suddenly this charge sheet appears. It is an attempt to crush the opposition, but they forget that it is Gandhi family – sacrifices are unnatural for the country.”
Congress spokesperson, Supriya Shrinet, made a scary attack on the Modi government, saying, “This is a 12 -year case. The government waited till the last day to register the charge sheet, which shows how they are legally and morally bankrupt.
Another party leader Udit Raj called the charge sheet “fake and illegal”. “We want to go to the public. No one is bigger than people. People should know that this charge sheet is completely baseless.”
The Congress has announced a nationwide protest against the move, especially in front of ED offices across the country.
BJP counter ‘corporate conspiracy’ with allegations
At a press conference held in Delhi, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad defended the action of ED and returned to Congress.
“The Congress has the right to oppose, but they do not have the right to loot land and public funds. The whole matter is about the misuse of money and assets. In 2008, the National Herald stopped the publication. After that, the Congress gave magazines to 90 million magazines Limited (AJL), this was a clear violation.
He further alleged, “Young India Limited was created when with every 38% share organized by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. It was a corporate conspiracy to grab AJL’s assets.
Prasad accused the Congress of misleading the public and using protests to distract from real legal issues.
What is the National Herald case?
The National Herald was a newspaper installed by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938, published by AJL. In 2008, AJL stopped the publication. Later, in 2010, Congress leaders created Young Indian Pvt. LimitedA company in which Sonia and Rahul Gandhi hold a majority stake.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy filed a private complaint in 2012 alleging that the Congress provided Rs 90 crore in the loan to AJL, which was later acquired by the young India in a paletry for Rs 50 lakh. He alleged that it allowed young India, and to effectively control the Gandhi family, more than Rs 2,000 crore, to control the real estate assets of more than Rs 2,000 crore.
The ED launched an investigation under the prevention of the Money Laundering Act. On Tuesday, it filed a prosecution complaint (charge sheet) by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others, including Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes.
The complaint has been filed for offenses under Section 44 and 45 of the PMLA, Section 3 (Money Laundering), Section 70 (crime by companies), and section 4 (punishment for money laundering).
what happens next?
Now the charge sheet will be taken by the Delhi Court, and the summons can be issued to the accused. The Congress has announced continuous protest, claiming that it would “be silent.” Meanwhile, BJP leaders insisted that the law should take its curriculum and no one is above the law.
