New Delhi: Indian Pacer Mohammad Siraj has joined the growing chorus of voices from the world of sports, which expresses grief and displeasure over the barbaric terror attack in the Baisran grassland near Pehhalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April.
The attack, which claimed the lives of at least 28 people and injured more than 20 others, has been described as one of the deadliest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama bombing.
Taking on Instagram, Sirj condemned cruelty and gave a powerful and emotional message:
“Just read about the horrific and shocking terrorist attack in Pahalgam. There is a pure evil to target and kill innocent citizens in the name of religion …
“There is no reason, no belief, no ideology can never justify such a demonic act.
“I can’t even start imagining the pain and trauma that families should pass.
“Families may get the strength to avoid this unbearable sorrow. We are very sorry for your loss.

Siraj’s words echoed with many fans and fellow players, who echoed their feelings in the comments, appreciated the cricketer for speaking against such insensitive violence.

The attack has created a major security reaction in the region. Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir PoliceAnd central agencies have started an intense manhint to catch criminals.
