‘Whoever can tolerate weapons …’

A senior Hamas leader has released a global call in response to US President Donald Trump’s proposal to transfer over two million ghazans to neighboring countries.

Do you believe that armed resistance is a legitimate response to political functions in Gaza?
“Anyone who can tolerate weapons, should fight anywhere in the world,” he announced, “explosives, bullets, knives, or even called attacks using stones.”
President Trump’s plan to “take Gaza” received a call amidst increasing tension. The proposal assumed control of the Gaza Strip to the United States, transferred its Palestinian residents to neighboring countries, and redeveloped the region to “Riviera of Middle East”.
Trump suggested that the Palestinians would be transported to “beautiful areas” somewhere else in the region, while Gaza is rebuilt. He said, “There is practically no building that is living in the entire Gaza Strip. I say we go in, we drop them down … no one else. There is no one,” he said.
Netanyahu supported Trump
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed support for Trump’s initiative, described it as a “remarkable” idea. Talking to his cabinet on Sunday, he said that military pressure on Hamas is giving results, “cracks” starts emerging in talks. Netanyahu reiterated the position of Israel that Hamas should lay his arms and its leaders would be allowed to leave Gaza as part of a comprehensive plan to ensure security and get voluntary immigration facilities under the Trump scheme.
In contrast, the proposal has been completed with widespread condemnation from Palestinian leaders and international community. Hamas officials have labeled Trump’s remarks in the Middle East as “recipe for creating chaos”. Sami Abu Zuhari said, “We consider it a recipe to create chaos and stress in the region because the people of Gaza will not allow such schemes to pass.”
Condemnation from Arab world
Egypt and Jordan, known for the possible rehabilitation of Ghazans, have strongly rejected the proposal. During a conversation at the White House, Raja Abdullah of Jordan refused to return Trump’s plan, saying that it could have an unstable impact on the region. Egyptian officials have also expressed concern, highlighting the ability of growing stress and disturbance.
The comprehensive Arab world has echoed these emotions. Saudi Arabia issued a statement in which the idea of forced displacement was rejected and reiterated that the normalization of relations with Israel is accidental on the establishment of a Palestinian state. Palestinian-American Congresswoman Rashida Tlab accused Trump of advocating “ethnic cleaning” with his proposal.
The United Nations has also weighed, General Secretary Antonio Gutres criticized the plan and labeled it as “ethnic cleaning”. He noted the importance of following international law and the rights of displaced population.
