Opposition Liberal Party’s conservative coalition on Tuesday nominated Susan Le as its leader, who became the first woman opposition leader of Australia and the first woman to lead the Liberal Party in her 80 -year history. The 63 -year -old opposition is set to change the former leader of Peter Donton, who faced a huge defeat in the recent Australian elections by losing his Queensland seat to Ali France of Labor Party. A former stock mustering pilot, Lei, has spent more than 20 years in national politics.

The announcement was made after the Australian cabinet was sworn in on Tuesday after resumping the Labor Party in a landslide victory on 3 May.Le is considered as a liberal voice within the Liberal party. He defeated Angus Taylor – who ran away on the promise of restoring orthodox values - by four votes.Announcing his desire to lead the upcoming elections, Le said, “Many Australians, including women and small Australians, have been felt neglected by the Liberal Party,” as stated by the BBC. He said, “We need to change. The Liberal Party should respect modern Australia, reflect modern Australia and represent modern Australia.”
Who is Sussan Ley?
Born in the English parents in Nigeria, he grew up in the United Arab Emirates before going to Australia at the age of 13. He changed his name from “Susan” to “Susan” and changed his faith in numerology. Lei began his political journey in 2001. He was elected to the House of Representatives at the Farr Division of New South Wales for seven term. During the syllabus in his political tenure, he has organized several important parliamentary positions and ministerial portfolio. Lei strongly advocates many rural and regional issues, focusing on ‘City vs Country divide’. It is emotional about promoting decentralization, supporting farmers, ensuring food security through local production and improving health services in rural areas.He said, “As your elected representative in the federal parliament of Australia, I want to hear you about the issues affecting citizens and towns in Farr, as well as offer my components with most information in the federal parliament,” he said while addressing members of his constituency.
