In a hearty moment, he recalled a wish that when Shah Rukh was just 15 years old, his father had expressed before passing. “My father’s mother was Kashmiri,” shared by Shahrukh. “He once told me that I should see three places in life: Istanbul, Italy and Kashmir. But he said, even if I see the first two without him, I should not see Kashmir without him.”

After the journey, he shared a touch message on Twitter: “My father had an incomplete desire to bring me to Kashmir … Now I am here, it seems that I am in his big, strong arms.”
Shah Rukh first shot ‘Dil Se’ in Ladakh in the 1990s, but never entered the Kashmir Valley. Recently, in April 2023, he returned to Kashmir for the filming of Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’, in which sequences were shot with co-star Taapsee Pannu in Sonamarg.
