New Delhi: Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva On Saturday, it was alleged that former CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal led a grand lifestyle at the expense of taxpayers, citing data obtained through an RTI Query, with the average annual maintenance cost of Rs 3.69 crore for his former official residence at 6, which is also dobbing as Flagstaff Road, which is also dobbing, which is between BJP.
The Aam Aadmi Party has not yet responded to the BJP’s allegations.
Speaking at a press conference organized by BJP Delhi, Sachdeva said, “The truth behind Kejriwal’s five -star lifestyle, which he tried to hide to run an ordinary government, was first exposed by renewal of Rs 52 crore ‘Sheesh Mahal’.
According to Sachdeva, the RTI application was filed by a resident of Maharashtra and was awarded by the North Delhi Government on 29 December 2023. The applicant then reacted to Delhi BJP. Information revealed that between March 31, 2015 and 27 December 2022, regular maintenance, sewerage, electrical and carpentry work was spent on regular maintenance at Kejriwal’s Flagstaff Road Bungalow.
“This means that on average, Rs 3.69 crore was spent annually on maintenance alone,” Sachdeva said. “Even the maintenance of assets owned by industrialists or large multiplex complexes in Delhi will not cost much annually. It shows the royal standards that Kejriwal has retained – or perhaps indicates another case of corruption.”
He questioned the rationale behind such high maintenance costs. “In a city like Delhi, anyone can manufacture 250-300 square yard yard bungalows for Rs 3-4 crore. Nevertheless, Kejriwal’s bungalow needed only for annual maintenance? It is shocking.”
Sachdeva directly challenged the former Delhi CM: “Arvind Kejriwal has recently become unusually calm and staying away from the media. The people of Delhi want him to come forward and explain that it was so wrong with his bungalow that it was so wrong that there was a need to spend 31 lakh rupees every month?”
BJP leader Dr. Anil Gupta and Shubendu Shekhar Awasthi were also present at the press conference.
