What happened ‘I will end the war in 24 hours’: Critics after Marco Rubio say that we will ‘move forward’ from Russia-Ukraine

State Secretary Marco Rubio indicated on Friday that the US cannot do a mediation between Russia and Ukraine and “move forward” unless there is a clear indication of an agreement, President Donald Trump’s critics asked what happened to their promise what he could end the war within 24 hours.
Rubio said amidst the ongoing efforts for a ceasefire deal amidst the ongoing efforts of Trump Admin after the landmark meeting in Paris with European and Ukrainian leaders, “We will not continue with this effort for weeks and months.”

Rubio said that what Trump has said is not his war – this is the former President who is a war of Biden, “This is not our war. We have other priorities to concentrate,” Rubio said. “The President feels very strongly about it. He has dedicated a lot of time and energy to it … it is important, but there are many other important things that are going on, just as worthy, if not much attention.”

The Paris meeting was the first solid, high-level meeting called by Rubio. The office of Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky called the talks creative and positive. When asked about Rubio’s comments, Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov told reporters on Friday that “quite complex” talks between Russia and the US were going on. He said, “Russia is trying to resolve this struggle, secure its interests, and open for dialogue. We are continuing to do so,” he said.
