What do we know about the attacker who took the SUV into the crowd, many died at the Vancouver Street Festival in Canada

An SUV driver is in police custody after driving the vehicle in a crowd festival at Vancouver on Saturday evening. The incident occurred after 8 pm (local time) near the former 41st Avenue and Fraser Street, where the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party was held.
Police confirmed that many people were killed and many others were injured in the attack. Videos of the scene show a black SUV with a crushed front hood and deploy airbags towards the driver. The images of the incident reflect dozens of injured persons who take care of respondents and understanding first.

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim condemned the attack, confirming that “there were many deadly” and many injuries. He said, “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the terrible incident at today’s Lapu Lapu Day event. Our views are impressed with the Filipino community of Vancouver during this incredibly difficult time.”
City Counselor Rebecca Bliga also confirmed the incident, stating that the SUV went into the crowd, resulting in several deaths. Bligh wrote on X, “Dreaded tragedy at Vancouver’s Lapu Lapu Festival: A driver of an SUV has attended the crowd, leaving many dead. Our city is in shock.”
Lapu Lapu Day is one of the biggest ceremonies of the Filipino culture, and this year marked its second celebration in Vancouver. The incident took place a few days before the federal elections of Canada. Officials have continued their investigation into the attack.
