Who is Shoshana Chatfield? US naval officer fired for ‘Vok’ comments

Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, has been rejected Trump administrationUS officials confirmed on Monday. Although no clear reason was given, the news agency associated press sources said that the removal of it seems to be associated with its public support for diversity within military ranks.
According to officials, Chatfield received a phone call from Joint Chief of Staff Acting Chairman Admiral Christopher Gradi. He was told that the administration wanted to take the situation “in a different direction”. It is believed that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth took the decision last week, although it is not clear whether President Trump was directly involved or not. The officials spoke anonymously due to the sensitivity of the case.
This is the third expulsion of a high ranked female officer under Trump. In February, Hegseth fired Admiral Lisa Frenchty in the then main part of the Navy’s operation. Admiral Linda Fagan, Commandant of Coast Guard, was rejected a day after Trump returned to office.
Firing is part of a comprehensive effort to describe Trump and Hegseth as “Vok” policies in the army. They have been vocal about abolishing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.
Senator Mark Warner criticized Trump to reduce the firing “deeply harassing”, to reduce American alliances and remove “decorated” officials.
