Kochi: At least four crew members are missing and five others were injured, as a Singapore-Jakka container rode on a Singapore-Flagged container ship on the coast of Kerala on Monday.The incident occurred at MV Wan Hai 503, which was initially reported to be exploded. However, the authorities later confirmed that it was an underdec fire.The sea operating center in Mumbai reported the fire to its Kochi counterpart around 10:30 am.The 270-meter long vessel with a draft of 12.5 meters left from Colombo on 7 June and was scheduled to reach Mumbai on 10 June.“On 09 June 25, in about 1030 hours, Moc (KOC) received a notice from Moc (MBI), which allegedly reported a fire on MV Wan Hai 503. The vessel flagged off NPC Mumbai on 07 June 25, Colombo on 10 June, “Communication from Pro Reed.He said that in response, the Indian Navy twisted Insa Surat, which was determined to do the dock in Kochi to provide immediate assistance.The vessel course was replaced at 11 am following instructions from the Western Navy Command.Additionally, preparations are being made to deploy a naval dornier aircraft from INS Garuda Naval Air Station in Kochi to evaluate the conditions and manage support operations.
