The romantic comedy, which was slated for the May 9 release, saw the actress starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. However, after the terrorist attack, the film is now officially banned in India.
The move comes as part of a broader crack on border cross cultural cooperation, in which Abir Gulal is one of the first high-profile casualties. Apart from Kapoor’s social media, all the songs and promotional materials related to the film have been removed from YouTube India.
The actress stepped into removing all the marks of the film from her handle, when the Government of India blocked the access to many chief’s Instagram accounts. Instagram in a statement clarified the action, “We reviewed it against our policies and evaluated a legal and human rights. After a review, we banned access to the material at the location where it goes against the local law.”
