Virat Kohli, the star batter of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), named his name in record books as the first cricketer to score 9,000 T20 runs for the same franchise. The landmark was obtained during the RCB’s final league stage encounter against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow on Tuesday.Kohli, RCB’s all-time leading run-scorer, has collected these runs in both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and now-Difunction Champions League T20 (CLT20). Prior to the match, Kohli had recorded 8,976 runs in 279 matches and 270 innings, an average of 39.54 with a strike rate of 133.49. His tally included eight centuries and 64 half -centuries, with a top score of 113*.In the IPL alone, Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the history of the tournament, with 8,552 runs in 264 matches and 256 innings. It is an average of 39.59 and also with the best of eight hundreds and 62 fifty, with the best of 113*.During his CLT20 appearance, Kohli scored 424 runs in 15 matches of 38.54 and a strike rate of 150.35 including two fifties. His highest score in the tournament was 84*.

In this season, Kohli has been in sublime, which is with 548 runs in 12 innings in the scoring chart of RCB. It is an average of 60.88 with a strike rate of 145.35, including seven half -centuries and the highest score of 73*. Currently, he ranks sixth in the overall run-scorers list for IPL 2025.If RCB manages a win against LSG, they will finish a top-two and set up a qualifier 1 clash against Punjab Kings (PBK), ensuring two opportunities to reach the IPL final.
