‘US is strong with India, PM Modi has our full support’: We on Pahgam attack

The United States said on Friday that it stands strongly with India against terrorism and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has full support of Trump administration in view of the recent deadly terrorist attacks in Pahgam.
State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said during a press briefing, “President (Donald Trump) expressed Prime Minister Modi last week, strong with the United States of terrorism with India and Prime Minister Modi has our full support.”
Bruce said that America is in constant touch with both Indian and Pakistani officials as stress increases Pahgam attackWho claimed 26 lives, most of the tourists. “The secretary encouraged both countries to work towards a responsible solution, which maintains long -term, let me say, let me correct, a responsible resolution that maintains long -term peace and regional stability in South Asia,” he said.
He said that talks were going on at several levels within the US government and state secretary Marco Rubio had personally talked to Foreign Minister’s Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
“We are in touch with the governments of the two countries, as I mentioned at many levels,” Bruce said.
On whether the US had made a call for D-Susculation, action was being taken, Bruce replied, “We are asking both sides for a responsible resolution. And in addition, there is nothing that I can give you, no other details.”
After the 22 April attack, India took a series of anti -retaliation. These include suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the integrated check post in the attic and cutting the strength of Pakistan’s High Commission employees. The Indian Army has also responded to violations of several ceasefire by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LOC), recently with incidents reported in Kupwara, Ponch, Tutmari Gali and Rampur areas.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth expressed condolences and support to India in a phone call with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. “Today, I spoke to Indian Defense Minister Singh to personally express my deep condolences to the loss of life in the heinous terrorist attack.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also spoke with Secretary Rubio, emphasizing that the “criminals, backers and planners” of the attack should be held accountable.
