UP says that Sambhal Masjid well is public, SC wants the answer to mosque management in 2 weeks

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh government informed Supreme Court on Tuesday that disputed Shahi Jama Masjid Sambhal is located on a public land, and near the well, locally known as ‘known’Dharni Varaha Kop‘, There is also no access to public land inside the mosque.
The trial court stopped at the order of the trial court on 24 November last year after SC, directed the survey of the disputed site – was claimed by the Hindu side as ‘Sri Hari Har Mandir’ – after the mosque management by a local commissioner, SC transferred the status quo in relation to “Private wells located near Rosak’s stairs/entrances”. The apex court sought a status report from the Uttar Pradesh government on the well.
Additional Solicitor General KM Nataraj told a bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar that “Kuan is a public well and is not located anywhere inside the mosque/disputed religious site. In fact, there is no access from inside the mosque to the well”.
When the bench asked why the management committee had not responded to the report of the situation on February 22, senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi said that this authorized person was delayed due to being in jail. The court asked the management to file its answer in two weeks.
The status of the UP government’s status said that the Masjid Management Committee suppressed the court that “is actually a well within the boundary walls of the mosque/disputed religious site is locally known as ‘Yagna Clap’. The said ‘Yagna Cop’ has not been interfered with the said well.”
Accusing the mosque management committee of misleading that ‘Dharni Varaha’ is well located inside the mosque, the state government said, “The well outside the mosque was in use since time by individuals from all communities. However, it was no longer found that there is no water after the communal dental of 1978.”
The state said that it is trying to revive culturally important sites in Sambhal district, including 19 historically conservation and restoration of important wells. The well in question is one of the 19 wells, said this.
