Trump Signal Chats to interview the Atlantic Editor behind the chat leak- why is here

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he would sit for an interview Jeffrey GoldbergAfter the Atlantic editor-in-chief, the controversial Atlantic report that Goldberg was added to a private group chat containing Tram’s top officials and sensitive national security discussions.
Goldberg was allegedly added to a signal group chat by National Security Advisor Mike Waltz at late March. The chat also included other high-ranked Trump Administration officials, who were discussing the classified information related to the US strike on the Hauthi goals in Yemen.
Trump said on the truth social, he was “out of curiosity” and “as a competition” himself. He questioned whether the Atlantic, which he has accused of prejudice, is capable of writing a fair profile. Trump wrote that in the interview, Goldberg will be part of a large piece titled “The most resulting president of the century” along with journalists Michael Sheerr and Ashley Parker.

The Trump administration initially rejected the leaks, claiming that no classified information was compromised. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth later stated that the conversation was exaggerated and Goldberg was criticized as a “deception”. However, after the public investigation progressed, Goldberg released screenshots from chat.
Trump has a history of public conflict with Goldberg, who stated in 2020 that Trump called Follen US soldiers “losing”, a claim that the President has continued to refuse.
