Trump condemns the ‘terrible shooting’ of MPs of Minnesota, it is called a target attack
US President Donald Trump on Saturday described two Democratic state MPs as “terrible shooting” in Minnesota, calling it a target work of violence that should not be tolerated.“I have been informed about the terrible shooting in Minnesota, which appears to be a target attack against state MPs,” Trump said in a statement. “Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States.”The shooting race, which took place in two towns near Minianpolis on Saturday morning, was killed by former Minnesota House speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injured state senator John Hoffman and his wife. Officials believe that the attack was politically motivated.Minnesota Governor Tim Walz confirmed the details during a press conference, called it a “murder” and urged the nation to stand against all forms against political violence. “Those responsible for this will be held accountable,” he said.The suspect, who had run away after exchanging bullets with officials, was allegedly presented as a law enforcement officer. Officials say the person used a vehicle that looked similar to a police SUV and exploited public belief in uniformed personnel.Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson said, “It is a betrayal of what our uniform represents.” A shelter-in-place order was issued on Saturday morning as a multi-agency manhint including the FBI.American Attorney General Palm Bandi vowed federal support for investigation, “frightening” and prosecution promised prosecution “to the extent of law”.“An attack against MPs is an attack on American democracy,” said Gabriel Gifords, a former Congress Congress and gun violence.
