Kamal Haasan’s much awaited film ‘Thug Life’, directed by Mani Ratnam, was released on 5 June yesterday amid a lot of discussion and some controversies. The film witnessed various occupancy rates in various languages and regions. In Tamil Nadu, ‘Thug Life registered’ a strong overall occupation of 52.06% on its first day. The morning and afternoon shows maintained a stable appearance of around 50.66% and 50.35% respectively, while the show was slightly reduced to 45.15% in the evening. The night show saw a significant increase in occupancy, reaching 62.07%, indicating better voting over the hours.In contrast, the Hindi version of the film struggled to attract the audience, with a overall occupation of only 5.79%. The morning shows led to a low turnout of 4.79%, slightly improved by 6.61% in the afternoon, while evening and night shows hovering around 5.80% and 5.97% respectively.In the Telugu-speaking areas, the thug life managed the overall occupation of 21.36%. The morning and afternoon shows performed equally with 22.43% and 23.61% occupancy, while the evening and night shows saw a minor dip, which had figures of 19.71% and 19.69%.
About the film
