Thousands of child migrants dead in the Made Crossing decade: UNICEF

Rome: Some 3,500 migrant children have died in the last decade or have gone missing. Imperturbable to Italy, UNICEF Estimated on Tuesday, compared to a child per day.

The shipwreak “should have been a moment that had the power to do to all countries and communities to protect the children on original, transit and arrival …” the agency said.
“Instead, since the decade, countless ships have killed thousands of children.”

UNICEF said that many children affected by migration are still denied “their most fundamental rights”.
Among other recommendations, the agency called to end the detention of children who are migrating or looking for a refugee status and said that it was the best way to protect the minors after the arrival.
