‘They will understand this in a way or in some other way’: Donald Trump on India-Pakistan stress after Pahgam Terror Attack

US President Donald Trump increased tension on Friday (local time) after the deadly Pahalgam terror attacks between India and Pakistan, saying that the two nations would solve the situation between them “in a way or other ways”.
Speaking on a route of the Air Force for Rome, Donald Trump reduced the growth and referred to the historical nature of the dispute, describing the attack as “a bad one”.
He said, “I am very close to India and I am very close to Pakistan, as you know. And he has fought in Kashmir for 1,000 years,” he told reporters. “Kashmir has been going on for 1,000 years, perhaps longer than this. And it was a bad yesterday, however, it was a bad. More than 30 people.”
On 22 April, a terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir killed 26 people, most of the tourists, which have been the worst attack in the valley since Pulwama in 2019. Indian authorities have blamed the attack for resistance front (TRF), it is believed that the band is a proxy of Pakistan-based Lashar-e-Taib.
Asked if he planned to intervene, Trump said, “There has been stress on that border for 1,500 years. So, you know, as it is, but they will understand it in a way or other way. I sure … I know that both leaders know. The two leaders know. There is a lot of stress between Pakistan and India.
India responded to the attack by suspending the Indus Water Treaty, withdrawing the visa issued to Pakistani citizens, closing the attic integrated check post and reducing the diplomatic appearance in Islamabad. Pakistan denied any participation, rejecting New Delhi’s claims as “trivial” and warned that it would respond to any Indian move.
Meanwhile, officials from both sides confirmed the overnight exchange of fire along the line of control.
