In a groundbreaking development for food safety and emergency preparation, a UAE-based company, red planet, Ready-to-Eat is introducing food that can remain consumable for 25 years. These ultra-long shelf-lif food are made possible by state-of-the-art freeze-drying technology that maintains taste, nutrition and safety, without all artificial preservatives or refrigeration. The process explained by Red Planet CEO Jasim al Noviis involves removing more than 95 percent moisture from food in careful controlled environment.“We begin by removing moisture from food in a controlled environment, which helps maintain its original taste, texture and, most important, nutritional value,” Al Nois said. “From there, we seal it into multi-layered, oxygen-absorbed packaging that protects against light, air and moisture. Ensure that the product remains safe, fresh and nutritious for up to 25 years, without refrigeration or preservatives.,

More than shelf life: a commitment for food security

Although the product has not yet reached the UAE retail shelves, the Red Planet has already completed a fully developed menu and is targeting important areas:

  • Humanitarian aid organization
  • Armed force
  • Space agencies
  • Government institutions

Al Noise emphasized widespread mission behind technology:“We do not just focus on expanding shelf life. For us, food safety is more than collecting something for emergency-it is about reliable, nutritious food access to those who really want to eat, whether it is five, ten, or even twenty five years from now,” he said. While the retail availability is in the pipeline, the red planet is actively promoting its innovation for strategic partners and global stakeholders. Recently, it attended the Saudi Food Show 2025, which was held in Riyadh from 12 to 14 May, where the company showed how its solutions contribute to stability, emergency preparations and long -term nutrition throughout the region.

Each dish is carefully designed to maintain its taste, texture and nutritional content, even in a rigid environment,” Al Nois said. “For us, food is more than fuel, it is a source of rest, reminiscent of the house, and a major element of flexibility.”

Viewing further: approval and retail launch

Red Planet is currently in the final stages of obtaining regulatory approval in the UAE, an important step before the products reach the store shelves.“This is not just a formality, it is a main part of our promise to give food that is not only safe and high quality, but also by communities and institutions that we serve,” said Al Nois. “I personally look after this part of this process because it matters deeply to us.” Once the regulators receive a green light, consumers in the UAE may expect to see the red planets available for retail purchase, which take a big step in accessible, long -lasting and high quality food security solutions made in the United Arab Emirates.
