Srinidhi Shetty revealed that he was offered Sita’s role in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana after KGF2 success: ‘Ravana as Yash and me as Sita …’.

Nitesh Tiwari’s much awaited film Ramayana starred Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and as Yash RavanaBut Sai was not the basic option for Sita. In an interview recently, actress Srinidhi Shetty shared that she auditioned for the role and received positive response from the manufacturers. He also talked about why he did not choose to participate.
Srinidhi’s audition and positive response
During his chat with Siddharth Kannan, Srinidhi Shetty shared that he had auditioned for the Ramayana and performed three well -prepared scenes. The producers were affected by his screen test, and he also learned around the same time that the Yash was involved in the project.
Why did he turn it down
Srinidhi Shetty decided not to move forward with the Ramayana as the audience had already seen his strong on-screen chemistry with Yash in KGF Chapter 2. Since their pair was a big hit, they felt that playing opposite her as Sita, while he portrayed Ravana, could find it difficult for the audience to accept soon after their successful cooperation. He thought it could seem strange.
Praise for Sai Pallavi
Srinidhi Shetty also expressed his excitement about casting Sai Pallavi as Sita in Ramayana. He believes that Sai is a great choice for role and shared that if nothing works, it opens new opportunities for development and exciting future possibilities.
Sai Pallavi is currently doing Ashok Vatika sequence for the upcoming upcoming RamayanaDirected by Nitesh Tiwari. The film, in which Ranbir Kapoor is also in the form of Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, has been slated to release in two parts in Diwali 2026 and 2027. Sunny Deol, playing HanumanFilming is to be started so far, while Yash has recently completed his Mumbai shoot. The epic is expected to facilitate VFX-ivory scenes and intense performance, which marks it as a major milestone in Indian cinema.
Ramayana also starred Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, and Lara Dutta Kaki. The film is scheduled to release in theaters in November 2026.
