As reported by ABC News, the DOJ cited “failure to advocate enthusiastically” for government interests as due to his suspension. Reuveni appeared disappointed and unable to provide legal justification during the Friday hearing, where Judge Paula Shinis ruled that exile was illegal and ordered the return of Abrego Garcia.
According to Politico, Revenee told the court that he had urged his DOJ superiors to bring back Ebrego Garcia and admit that he could not tell why he was detained or labeled as an MS -13 member.
DOJ later removed his name from the official filing in the case. Mentorist Palm Bondi Publicly criticized Reuvene, saying that DOJ lawyers should “advocate enthusiastically from the United States.” His supervisor, August Flintze, was also on leave to fail to oversee Reuvene’s conduct.
