Born in Odisha for Jena, it was a silver. Nevertheless, not a single mark of disappointment was visible on his face.
The Hangzo Olympic Sports Park’s main stadium, known as “Big Lotus”, was seen, Jena was seen jumping, Neeraj was seen jumping, hugging in pure bliss, clicking on pictures, and taking a self -clicking self -clicking, which soon went viral in social media.
Back home, Jena found more love as the Olympic champion.
His resolve now became rigid, and he began training with a unique meditation: to challenge Neeraj in Paris 2024.
But two months away with the Olympics, as soon as the preparation raised the steam, there was trouble.
“In May, I was in Patiala. While throwing an exercise, I felt something in my left ankle,” Jena told Timesophindia.com.
The pain was tremendous, not only physically, but also mentally, because his Olympic dream took just a hit.
Paris reached 2024 Olympics; Kishore Jena pressurized, but could not qualify for the final round.
The 29 -year -old said, “I felt that if I go for surgery before the Olympics, I would lose too much time. But later, I was told that the surgery was only permanent fix. Without it, proper recovery was not possible,” said 29 -year -old.
On 4 October, Jena underwent surgery.
“Everything is fine now. Doctors said that the ankle needs time just to adapt. There is a difference of 7-8 months in training, so it is a reading,” he smiled.
Last month, Jena made her competitive comeback at the Indian Open in Chennai.
However, his best attempt of 75.99m was not much to write about the house, for someone who was struggling to walk a few months ago, it was a personal victory.
Later in the Federation Cup in Kochi, in April, Jena threw 77.82 meters, recalled the podium from only 0.02 meters. Sachin Yadav took gold with 83.86 meters, followed by Yashwir Singh (80.85 m) and Sahil Silwal (77.84 m).
Meanwhile, there was a lot with the announcement of the world of athletics Neeraj Chopra Classic ,NC classic), A prestigious ‘A’ category continental tour gold event by World Athletics.
Indian stars like Sachin, Rohit Yadav and Sahil were nominated in the lineup released on Tuesday, but Kishore Jena’s name was particularly missing.
“I was trying to enter it for a while, but the throw was just not getting off well, so it seemed that it would not happen this time. I was so, if it does not happen this year, it’s fine. I thought I would try again next year.”
Then I got a call. On Wednesday evening, under the Mumbai Akash, Jenna’s phone rings. The double Olympic medalist at the other end was Neeraj Chopra.
He said, “Around 8:20 or 8:25, I received a call from Neeraj Bhai. He said that he had talked to the management and I should play. Similar conversation started.”
This was not his first conversation about it. Even before this, Neeraj’s messages encouraged him to participate. But with a remarkable dip in Doha leg loving and performance of the Diamond League, Jena was not sure that he could manage both.
Perhaps the call on Wednesday night was the shock he needed. On Thursday, Jena was officially added as its latest entry into the NC classic lineup.
A source of the developments told Timesopyndia.com, “We were eager to include Jena, but were waiting for confirmation as he has just returned from injury and is also preparing for the Diamond League.”

Before stepping into a high-profile NC classic at Kantirwa Stadium, Jena, Bangalore on 24 May, a major target is to dissolve all important 85.50 meters in the upcoming Doha Diamond League on 16 May.
“The goal is to certainly qualify for the World Championship through him,” Jena concluded, which will leave for Qatar on 14 May.
