New Delhi: A person killed his wife and tried to pass it as a suicide in Mahipalpur, South -West Delhi. The post -mortem indicated that he was killed by strangulation, interrogating the woman’s husband, who confessed to the crime, saying that he was drunk after attending a party and had a dispute with his wife, causing murder.
Police received a control room alert on 6 March about the death of an alleged hanging. On reaching the location in the block in Mahopalpur, the police team found that a woman named Kalpan, aged 28, had hanged herself. Her body was already taken down by her family members and was rushed to a Vasant Kunj Hospital, where she was declared dead. The deceased married Amit Kumar Sehrawat about six years ago, and he had a five -year -old child from marriage. He is employed by a private company in Gurgaon.
Action was taken under Section 176 (inquiries in death due to death by the magistrate) of the Indian Municipal Security Code. The statements of Kalpana’s parents were recorded before the Tehsildar of Vasant Kunj, in which he and other relatives said that there was a quarrel between Kalpana and her husband, but they did not make any allegations about dowry torture. Police sources said that on 8 March, the post -mortem of the deceased was held at Safdarjung Hospital. The medical team, which carries out the autopsy, said that “death is caused by asphixia resulting from ante-muortem ligcre strangulation. However, Vickera is preserved to control any concomitant poisoning. All injuries are mortums in nature. Injuries are mortums. Injuries. Injuries Nos. 2 to 11 to 11.
The woman’s parents were informed about the findings and a case was registered. An investigation was initiated. Police sources said Sehrawat was also questioned, and he eventually admitted that on 5 March, he had gone to a wedding ceremony in Masudpur in Vasant Kunj, with his family, where he had consumed alcohol. After being drunk, there was a dispute with his wife and was dropped at his house by his cousin. After a while, Kalpana also returned home, on which Sehrawat started quarreling with her about some domestic issues. He beat his wife, and during a scuffle, he strangled her. Finding that she had died, hung her wife’s body with a rope made of multicolored cloth, the police said. He then acted as if his wife Kalpna had hanged himself. However, the findings of the post -mortem reduced Sehrawat’s lies and when the police inquired, he was motivated to accept his crime, arrested. Further investigation is going on.
