Confirming that “no business wins from war,” the stormer said that his government’s immediate strategy was “to keep calm and fight for the best deal.” However, he also clarified that the UK-US trade agreement would be chased only “if it is correct for British business.
“All options remain on the table,” he said in terms of possible reactions to Washington’s move.
The economic decline from the tariff was already visible till the weekend. British automaker Jaguar Land Rover On Saturday, it announced that it would “stop” all vehicle shipments in the US market in April as it evaluated “new trading conditions”.

He said, “We are ready to use an industrial policy to help to give shelter to the British business from the storm. Some people may feel uncomfortable about it … but we can’t just stick to old feelings when the world is changing this fast,” he said.
