Shubman Gill compared cricket news to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s captaincy styles

New Delhi: Shubman Gill was officially appointed as the new Test captain of India on Saturday, in which Rishabh Pant named his deputy for the upcoming five -match Test series in England. The decisions of the selectors were highly expected, which was after the retirement of Stallwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from the longest format. At the age of 25, Gill shared a warm coordination with both legends. As he steps in the role of leadership, he reflects the invaluable guidance received from him over the years.Interestingly, Gill becomes India’s fifth youngest Test captain after Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (21), Sachin Tendulkar (23), Kapil Dev (24), and Ravi Shastri (25).“When I was a child, I was always inspired by The Great and Legends of Indian cricket and was very lucky to be able to play with many of them,” Gill said in a video shared by the Indian cricket team after his appointment.“It was very opposite to the context of his style, both Virat Bhai or Rohit Bhai, but it was very inspiring to see both of them working towards a general goal. You want to be able to win as a captain and your styles could be different, but they were very different, but they were similar in their own meanings,” he said.
Gill said, “Virat Bhai was always very aggressive, always wanted to lead from the front with hunger and passion.” “While Rohit Bhai was also aggressive, you cannot see that in his response or his expressions. But he was also someone who always attacked a lot on the field. Rohit Bhai was the person who was very calm and cleverly present, and he communicates a lot for the players – what he wants from the players. And so, these are the qualities that I have learned from them. ,Since making his Test debut in 2020, Gill has depicted 32 matches and scored 1,893 runs on an average of 35. His records include five centuries and seven half -centuries, most of which topped the performance order.
