The US State Secretary signed a surrender warrant on 11 February and authorized Rana’s extradition to India. Although Rana’s legal team filed an emergency migration motion, US SC dismissed its petition on 7 April.
Rana had provided passports for fellow Jihadi, Pakistani-American David Coleman Headley, alias Dawood Gilani, who traveled to India to select the target for the terrorist attack for the terrorist attack being prepared by Lashkar in collaboration with the ISI, Pakistan spy agency. Rana captured the deaths in Mumbai on 26 November 2008 and said that Jihadis responsible for this should be given the highest posthumous military honors of Pakistan as per Nia.

Rana’s transfer is going on from the United States to Delhi. On reaching India, he is expected to be kept in Tihar Jail.
A 64 -year -old Canadian citizen, born in Pakistan, has a close relationship with David Coleman Headley (also known as Dude Gilani), an American citizen, a primary plotter in a 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
He was extradited in India after the US Supreme Court rejected his final appeal to stop the transfer.
