Former US President Joe Biden has revealed an ‘aggressive’ form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office announced on Sunday. In response, US vice -president Kamala Harris expressed his support, describing Biden as “a fighter”, which would face the disease with strength and optimism.Harris shared his views in a post on X, saying, “Who is a fighter – and I know that he will face this challenge with the same strength, flexibility and optimism that has always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful of a complete and early recovery.” She said that she was “unhappy” to know about the diagnosis.Biden was diagnosed after recent medical examination after urine symptoms. In a regular physical examination, a small nodule came out on his prostate, which led to further testing. By Friday, doctors confirmed that Biden’s prostate cancer was present and it had already spread to their bones. According to his office, although cancer is aggressive, it is hormone-sensitive, meaning that it can be effectively managed.“The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with their physicians,” the statement states.Prostate cancer is measured by a glyson score, which ranges from 1 to 10 and indicates how unusual cancer cells compare with healthy people.
