Second round of peace talks from Ukraine-Russia closed to end three years of war in Istanbul

The delegation of Ukraine and Russia met in Istanbul on Monday for a second round of peace talks in two weeks, aimed at finding a way to end the three -year struggle.Ukraine interacted only after starting a surprising attack on four Russian airbases located thousands of kilometers away. Ukraine said the raids destroyed more than 40 warfare aircraft and the biggest strike in the Russian region since the war started. The attacks targeted the bases at a distance of more than 7,000 kilometers from Russia’s Arctic, Siberia and Ukraine in the Far East.Vasil Malluk, head of the Ukrainian Security Service and planner of the operation, described the attack as “a major slap on the face for Russia’s military power”. During the talks, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan presided over the sessions, along with officials of the Turkish intelligence agency. The Ukrainian delegation was led by Defense Minister Rustom Umrov, and the Russian side was led by Vladimir Medinski, an associate of President Vladimir Putin.The meeting continued to fight a fierce fight along with a long front line of about 1,000 km. Russian forces made the southern Kherson region circular, killing three people and injuring 19, including two children. Around the city of Zaporizhia, missile strikes and shelling killed five and nine injured.The Russian Ministry of Defense said its aerial rescue shot 162 Ukrainian drones overnight in several Russian areas including Crimea. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force claimed that it damaged 52 out of 80 drones started by Russia overnight.Russian media paid little attention to recent Ukrainian airbase attacks, the state’s television briefly reported the statement of the Ministry of Defense before focusing on Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian posts.Zelansky warned that if the Istanbul dialogue fails to give results, strong sanctions against Russia would be immediately needed.
