Singer Sonu Nigam has filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court, demanding a quashing of an FIR registered against him to allegedly make aggressive comments about the Kannadiga community.Singer wants legal relief after cedar in BengaluruAs ANI reported, the court postponed the hearing till 15 May after hearing the case briefly. The controversy stems from the comments made by the singer during a concert in Bangalore on 22 April during a concert, which allegedly angered several Kannada-bound persons.

Due to a viral video from the April incident, the case has further attracted attention that allegedly shows the Nigam making derogatory remarks.Song removed from Kannada film above lineAmidst increasing resentment, the producers of the upcoming Kannada film Kuldali Kelawoodo announced the removal of a song sung by Sonu Nigam. In a press statement, the team said, “There is no doubt that Sonu Nigam is a good singer. But, we are very upset about how he spoke about Kannada in a recent concert. We cannot tolerate insults.“Sorry Karnataka. My love for you is greater than my ego”In response to backlash, Sonu Nigam released a public apology via social media on 5 May. He wrote, “Sorry Karnataka. My love for you is greater than my ego. Love you allways.” The singer expressed deep regret that he never intended to hurt anyone and his affection for Karnataka is strong.
