He warned Aamir about the potential risk, but unaffected by the warning, Aamir chose to move forward. Then he showed the film Amitabh, and once he saw it and understood the unique style of statement, he liked what he saw. Ashutosh Gowariker remembered for the first time that he heard the voice of Amitabh Bachchan, with early scenes of Lagaan. His concern grew when Javed called him, questioned his decision to pursue the film. Javed explained several factors that could obstruct its success, such as the fact that sports films and cricket-theme films rarely worked, and the use of duration dialect could confuse the audience. He also referred to the opposite among the distinguished glamorous settings of films shot in places like Lagaan’s rural setting and Switzerland. Javed also mentioned Amitabh Bachchan’s participation, given that whatever film he had heard in the past failed.
