Quoting the Russian news agency Tass, Rudenco said, “This work is being done this year. It is his invitation.” The visit is currently under discussion between the two countries, in which Moscow has hoped that PM Modi will participate in the high-profile event.
Russia has also invited many other “friendly countries” leaders to participate in this year’s memorial parade, which is a major annual program displaying the country’s military and historical heritage. The festival marks the anniversary of the German surrender on 9 May 1945, after a Soviet -led involved in January of that year.
PM Modi last visited Russia in July 2024, which was the first visit to the country in about five years. During that visit, he held extensive discussions with President Vladimir Putin and invited him to go to India. Putin accepted the invitation, although his travel dates have not been revealed.
