After identifying irregularities, bank manager Tarun Dadich filed a complaint, which led to a broad audit and later police investigation.“He systematically transferred money, sometimes using an elderly woman’s account, who had no knowledge of activity as a pool account,” said Ibrahim, the sub-inspector of the Udhog Nagar Police Station. “By mid -February 2023, more than Rs 3 crore had passed through that single account.”After one -day police custody, Gupta appeared before the court and was sent to judicial custody. The police continued their inquiry into the matter.A representative of the ICICI Bank said, “Our customers’ interest is most important for us. Soon after searching for fraud activity, we filed an FIR with the police. We have a void-assessment policy against any fraud activity and thus the employee involved has suspended. We would like to assure that the actual claims of the affected customers have been resolved.”
