New Delhi: Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge on Tuesday gave three suggestions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which were recently announced nationwide. Caste -writingWhich will include the next national census.
In a letter, of which he shared on X, Kharge made the following suggestions: A questionnaire based on the “Telangana model”, regardless of the results of the caste survey, set a constitutional amendment to remove the “50 percent reservation cap”, and to determine the prescribed tribals to determine the “immediate implementation” of Article 15 (5).
A caste survey was conducted by the Congress -ruled Telangana, and the results were announced in February. Since the announcement of the caste census government, the Grand Old Party has demanded that the “Telangana model” be adopted for Pan-India exercise.
Meanwhile, Kharge also asked the Prime Minister to talk with all political parties soon on the issue of caste census.
The Congress chief further stated that the caste census should not be considered “divisive” as it serves as a means to give rights to backward, deprived and marginalized people. “
The letter said, “Our great nation and our big hearted people have always been united in adverse conditions. Recently, we all showed solidarity after a cowardly terrorist attack in Pahgam.”
Caste census should be organized in the “broad ways” suggested by the Congress as it will ensure “social and economic justice and equality and equality of opportunity”.
