Record fall in Japanese citizens with a decline in population

Tokyo: Number of Japanese citizen Official figures showed on Monday that 898,000 people have seen a decline of 898,000 people from October 2024 to 898,000 people.

This was the biggest decline on record for Japanese citizens as the government started collecting comparable data in 1950, according to which Ministry of internal affairs,
The government is trying to provide assistance to the young couples who want to have children, but they feel that they cannot do it for economic reasons, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said.
He said during a regular media briefing on Monday, “We understand that the falling date of birth is going on because many people who want to raise children are not able to fulfill their desires.”
The population of Japan, including foreign nationals, also fell by 550,000 people to 123.8 million – 14th direct annual decline, as the country has failed to effectively address the decline of its old population.
Many youths in Japan are delaying getting married and producing children due to many reasons, ranging from delicate job security to changing social values that put less emphasis on marriage.
Japan has converted young foreigners into a source of labor, but the government has maintained a strict immigration policy, allowing foreign workers to only on temporary basis.
Hayashi said that the government is trying to increase wages for young people, while also providing help for the child’s upbringing.
He said, “We will promote extensive measures to feel a society where everyone who wants to have children can have children and can increase them in peace,” he said.
