Real Madrid has nominated former midfielder Zabi Alonso as its new head coach, replacing Carlo Anseloti in a three -year deal starting from June 1, 2025. The 43 -year -old Spaniad, who currently leads Bare Levercurcene, will take charge of the team ahead of the Club World Cup in this summer.Real Madrid announced in his statement, “Xabi Alonso will be the real Madrid coach for the next three seasons, from 1 June 2025 to 30 June, 2028,” Real Madrid announced in his statement.“Alonso is one of the biggest legends in real Madrid and world football,” the club’s statement continued. “He wore our shirts in 236 sports between 2009 and 2014. During that time he won six trophies.”After acquiring Bundesaliga and German Cup double in the 2023–2024 season, Alonso released Bayer Leverkusen, leading his team through an unbeaten league campaign. His contract with Leverkusen included a section, which allowed him to leave for his former clubs, including Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
The Spanish coach will succeed Anseloti, which is ready to handle the Brazilian national team. The final season of the Italian manager in Madrid saw the team winning only the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, while the major competitions fell less.Madrid faced elimination in the Champions League quarter -finals against Arsenal and lost both the Spanish Super Cup and Copa Del Ray Finals in Barcelona. The team also surrendered their Liga title to their staunch rivals.Ancelotti’s legacy in Real Madrid includes 15 trophies in her two mantras, which extended for six years. He won the three Champions League, with the historic La Decima – Club’s tenth European crown – in 2014, although Alonso was suspended for that final.The upcoming coaches bring impressive credibility as a player, winning two European Championships and the 2010 World Cup Spain. His coaching career began with young teams in Real Madrid and Real Sosidad before taking a rudder in Bayer Leverkusen in 2022.Real Madrid has already begun to strengthen his squad, signing Dean Hugsen from Bornmouth. Club is also chasing the Right-Back Trent Alexander-Aneold of Liverpool, which is ending the contract in Enfield.The first opportunity of Alonso for silver utensils will come in the Club World Cup. Saudi Arabia’s team will face Al-Hilal in Miami on June 18 in their opening match of Real Madrid FIFA’s summer tournament.The new coach will be officially presented at 1030 GMT on Monday, which will mark the onset of his term at the club, where he was the first successful as a player.
