New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday dismissed the Election Commission of the Election Commission (ECI) “match-fixing” allegations in elections. Gandhi said in a post on X, “Dear EC” instead of answering the questions raised in his article, instead of issuing a clear, clear note.,In response to the statement of the Election Commission of India (ECI), Gandhi said, “Dear EC, you are a constitutional body. It is not a way to answer serious questions for the mediators.”The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha further said, “If you have nothing to hide, answer the questions in my article and prove it: Publish integrated, digital, machine-readable voter rolls for the most recent elections for the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly of all states including Maharashtra. Releasing CCTV footage at 5 am from Maharashtra polling booths at 5 pm. ,The Congress MP said, “Theft will not protect your credibility. Will tell the truth.” His response came a few hours after the ECI reacted a few hours after Gandhi’s allegations of “match-fixing” were called “completely absurd” allegations of “match-fixing” in the election process. The ECI said, “The entire nation knows that every election process, including preparation of electoral rolls, voting and counting etc., is conducted by all government employees and that too is formally appointed by political parties/ candidates to constituency level in the presence of authorized delegates.”The apex pole body added to his statement, “Any wrong information is spreading by anyone, not only a sign of disrespect towards the law, but also brings dislocation to thousands of representatives appointed by his own political party and demotate millions of electoral workers working unexpected and transparent during elections.”The ECI’s statement said, “After any adverse decision by the voters, the Election Commission is trying to discredit him saying that this agreement has been reached, completely absurd.”The Election Commission responded after sharing an article by Gandhi, in which he described as a step-by-step manipulation of the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections.“My article shows how it happened, step by step: step 1: Rig panel for appointment of Election Commission. Step 2: Add fake voters to the roll. Step 3: Voting voters. Step 4: Target bogus voting where BJP needs to win. Step 5: Hide evidence, “Gandhi wrote in a post on X. “It is not difficult to see why the BJP was so frustrated in Maharashtra. But rigging is like match -fixing – the side that plays cheating, but damages the institutions and destroys public confidence in the result. All concerned Indians should see evidence. Judge for themselves.” Gandhi said. The Leader of the Opposition claimed in his post, “Because Maharashtra’s match-fixing will come in the next Bihar, and then the BJP is losing anywhere.”
