Kennedy Junior saw the vaccine-autism debate with new studies, medical experts warned of public health risks

US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior has started a new study to investigate what he says to autism “epidemic”, but the move has worried many people in the medical community. Autistic Self EdvocCC Network stated that the study could be biased and designed to match the already existing beliefs held by Kennedy and President Donald Trump, the news agency AFP said. Medical experts stressed that autism is not the result of vaccination. Hugo Pere, a child psychiatrist from France, said that Kennedy’s comments show a clear lack of understanding of scientific evidence.
“Around 200 genes have been associated with autism, and about 80 percent of autism cases can be linked to genetic mutations,” Thomas Burgaran, head of the Human Genetics and Conservative Formation Lab at the Pasteur Institute, France, told AFP.
According to WHO, about one percent of children are currently diagnosed with autism, a number that has increased over time, mostly due to awareness and comprehensive clinical norms.
Experts say it is misleading to call it “epidemic”. They warn that advancing infamous principles can reduce the rate of vaccination and can cause damage to public health. During the recent measles outbreak in the US, most of the patients were unwanted. So far two children have died.
