Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked the decisive global efforts to deal with terrorism and people who enabled it during a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammi. In Jammu and Kashmir, a recent Pahalgam terror attack was talked about in a strong British condemnation.According to a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, Lammi strongly condemned the attack and expressed Britain’s strong support for India’s fight against cross -border terrorism. In turn, PM Modi underlined the need to work firmly and collectively to the international community.The statement said, “The UK Foreign Secretary strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and expressed support for India’s fight against cross -border terrorism.” “PM Modi underlined the need for decisive international action against terrorism and who supports it.”The two leaders also welcomed the successful conclusion of the long-pending India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and the Dual Taxation Parihar Sammelan. PM Modi appreciated “creative engagement” from both sides to reach the milestone.Lemy said the UK was eager to deepen cooperation in major areas such as defense, security, trade, clean energy, technology and innovation. PM Modi also mentioned the increasing strength of India-UK broader strategic partnership and praised the ongoing cooperation under the Technology Safety initiative, a step towards creating a “reliable and safe innovation ecosystem”.Lammi’s visit comes during the increased diplomatic outreach between New Delhi and London.
