Israel on Saturday attacked a coastal refinery in Phase 14 of the Iran’s South Pars gas area in Persian Gulf, as it expanded its attack on the Islamic Republic to target its vital energy field. According to a report by a semi-official Tasim news agency, the hit at the onshore Phase 14 processing plant forced the closure of a production platform on the ground. A separate fire also erupted in the Fajr Jam Gas Refinery, which processes the gas from the South Pars with the NAR and bracelet fields and is one of the largest refineries in Iran. Fajr jam refinery has not been given an official cause for the refinery blaz, but the initial assessment suggests that hostile drones may include, Tasnim explained without giving a source.
