Pakistan promoted the army chief Munir for the 5-star rank of Field Marshall for the ‘crushed enemy’.

Islamabad: Shahbaz Sharif government in Pakistan on Tuesday promoted Army chief Syed Asim Munir to the five -star rank of Field Marshal, replying to Operation Sindoor of India, described as “exemplary leadership” and described as “great honors for our motherland”.For a country, in whose history there are four military ruler in different periods, Field Marshal Munir is the only second army chief who was elevated to the top rank prepared on the structure of the British army. The first one, Field Marshal Ayub Khan, ranked rank in 1959, while he was the President, cited the Pakistani Civil Society citing “request”.PM Shahbaz’s office announced that the cabinet unanimously decided to continue the services of Air Chief Marshal Poison Ahmed Babar Sidhu after the end of its term.The statement also claimed that Pakistan reduced five Indian jets and thwarted “further events”, which led to a stopping US-medium in military operations from 10 May. Public relations of inter-service (ISPR), Army Media Affairs Wing, dedicated the Field Marshal Munir to “Nation, Sarif forces and martyrs.In a congratulatory statement on X, Shehbaaz credited Field Marshal Munir, a “high strategy” during a conflict with India, which targets nine terrorist sites with a later May 6-7 airstrikes. India had a reaction to 26 deaths in the April 22 terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam of Operation Sindoor J&K.Without the name of India, Shahbaz said that under Field Marshal Munir, the army “crushed the enemy’s nefarious design”.On a large scale with the history of Pakistan’s military coup, new Coronated Field Marshal Munir is widely seen as a kingmaker behind Shahbaz’s premiere. Critics of the move within Pakistan argue that promotion strengthens the army’s grip on civil rule, especially amidst domestic challenges such as Baloch Rebellion and Economic Crisis.The time of promotion matches with Pakistan and demands the support of the European Union to combat “India’s Terrorism Story”, suggest a dialect for the strength of the project.While the PM’s office and the ISPR frame field marshal Munir’s height as a tribute to national flexibility, its political undertaking and apartheid military claims increase concerns about democratic backsliding and regional instability.
