Pakistan earns 3 billion rupees from Champions Trophy hosting, crosses the target: PCB | Cricket news
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has claimed that it earned Rs 3 billion from hosting the ICC Champions Trophy, which is more than an estimated target of Rs 2 billion. In a written response presented to the National Assembly amid increasing concerns over the national team’s performance, the board defended its financial and operational decisions.
The PCB said, “The Champions Trophy was fully managed by the ICC, and there is no overspeeding or mismanagement.” This further clarified, “The final figures will be confirmed once ICC Complets its financial audit. ,

The board also confirmed that with the completion of 2026, Rs 18 billion is being invested in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. The second phase of this renewal will begin in May after the conclusion of the Super League. “So far, no budget has been done,” PCB assured, adding that regular audit – twice an annual – keep the finance in the check.

On the consistent underperformance of the national team, PCB cited several factors including injuries and various sports conditions. The statement said, “Major players have suffered injuries in critical moments, affecting the balance and strategy of the team.” It states that prevention of new injury and rehabilitation measures are being implemented.
