Obama’s daughter accused of copying the short film of the Indie producer: ‘I was disappointed and hurt’
Indie filmmaker Natalie Jasmine Harishasas accused Malia, daughter of former President Barack Obama, of copying her short film Grace in her Nike advertisement. But it’s not about the game. It is about cinematic devices that are used to portray it,” Harris said. “Initially, I was disappointed and hurt-only for myself but for my entire team. I sent commercial to friends with the same response that I had. One compared the shot-by-shot photo together,” he said. “My cinematographer, Tehillah de Castro, from a technical point of view, noted a lot of similarities from camera angles to framing composition and color palette.”“It talks on a big issue of brands who do not support independent artists and choose for people who already have name identity, who does not breed to tell innovative films or original story. If they wanted these shots that were similar to my shots, why not to direct me?”‘I was hesitant because it includes the daughter of the former President’Harris said that she would like some acknowledgment from Nike or Malia Obama. “I was initially hesitant to speak, because it includes a former president’s daughter and a dear brand like Nike … but I have put a lot in my work so that it can be seen just sitting,” she said.
