Nehra explained, “In a tournament like IPL, for the first time players need stability.” “My approach is simple – let them be. Nobody is doing them justice. Especially when they are new to setup, they need time to settle.”
After the auction after a continuous squad, Nehra emphasized the importance of chemistry and clarity. “Every three years, about half the squad is new. So how soon you can build that chemistry. I believe in correcting the basics. No rocket science. Just keep it simple – but it is not always easy to keep it simple.”
Nehra also voiced his full support for captain Shubman Gill, assuming that the young opener is ready to take GT to a new era.
Nehra concluded, “Gill is hungry for learning and learning. If he continues to grow with the game, the sky is the limit for him – not only as a batsman, but as a captain who can take this team forward,” Nehra concluded.
