In the West Point speech, Donald Trump says, ‘We have rebuilt the army’, criticizing ‘social projects’.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday gave a fierce and politically charged speech at the West Point, using the occasion to praise the graduating cadets, claiming credits for the US military revival and confirming their “America first” theory.Speaking to 1,002 graduates at the Mixi Stadium, Trump celebrated his hard work and honored the academy’s careless heritage. “In a few moments, you will become the graduation of the most elite and collected military academy in human history,” he said. “And I know, because I have rebuilt that army, and I re -created the army.”Wearing his trademark red “Make America Great Again” cap, Trump entered the political field, saying that his administration had re -defined military priorities. “We are getting rid of distractions and we are focusing our army on our original mission: crushing American opponents, killing America’s enemies and defending our great American flag such as never defended before,” he said.Trump also condemned that he described as “social projects and political reasons” under the previous administration. He accused the previous leaders of “the nation-building crushed into the nations in the nation, who wanted to do anything with us” and praised his own record of keeping America out of wars.He said, “We had no war, we had no problem, we had nothing but success, we had the most incredible economy,” he said, repeating claims about 2020 and 2024 elections. Trump announced that he had won all seven swing states in the last election, giving him a “mandate” to act decisively.Amidst political rhetoric, Trump took moments to highlight individual cadet achievements. He brought the cadet Chris Vardugo forward, who completed a fiercely 18.5 miles in temperature in just two hours and 30 minutes. He appreciated the top-ranking of West Point Lacrose team and football quarterback Bryson Daily, which he praised for his “Steel”-like shoulder.Trump used daily to strengthen his position on transgender athletes, saying, “This is the kind of shoulder that is in men’s game.”Keeping the tradition in mind, he also released forgiveness for many cadets to face disciplinary violations, told the class, “You could go anywhere, but what you’re doing is better.”Calling it a “defined moment”, Trump advised the new authorities to “do what you love” take a risk and reject the career. “We need patriots with courage and vision and backbone,” he said.Outside the premises, about three dozen protesters gathered peacefully, reporting AP. Some waving flags, while others opposed Trump’s political views, indicated, including a reading “Go Army Beat Fascism”.Trump’s presence echoed his previous West Point address during the epidemic in 2020, which shaken the controversy to bring cadets back to the campus amid health concerns. Earlier this month, he also gave a political speech at Alabama University.
