Nepal ruling coalition says arrest Gyanendra; PM Oli says that East-Raja should face results

Kathmandu: Nepal’s ruling coalition has called for arrest Former king Gyanendra Shah78, after the violence, during a supporter protest, in which two persons, including a journalist, were killed in Kathmandu last week. On Monday night, senior members of the major Republican parties met to coordinate a joint response, which to defend the federal democratic system, which they described as “organized attempts to destroy it”.
Speaking in the first Parliament on Monday, PM KP Sharma Oli accused Gyanendra of directly provoking unrest. “Even former King Gyanendra Shah cannot escape the responsibility for this violence. Those who say they will become kings again and destroy the system – should they not make their views public on these events?” Oli said Gayanndra met with the opposing organizers, which included the controversial figures Durga Praty and Navraj Subedi, in Nirmal Niwasa, Gyanendra’s private residence in Kathmandu, one day before Friday’s performance. “These activities will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken,” said, “Oli said, referring to a video message released by Gyanendra on Nepal’s democracy day (19 February), claiming that he claimed that he instigated royalist sentiments.
In the video, Gyanendra said that he had “left” in greater interest of the country and the people, called it “a sacrifice, not weakness”. “Democracy exists more in words than behavior today,” he said, citing a crisis in economic difficulty, youth migration and education. While urging national unity, he called upon the citizens to “correct the mistakes of the past” and said, “I am ready to make someone sacrificed for the country”. No official case, charge or arrest order has been issued against Gyanendra yet.
On Monday night, Nepali Congress, CPN-Kumar, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party, Public Moment, Citizen Anmukti Party, Loktatik Samajwadi Party, CPN (Unified Socialist), and senior members of the Naple Samjabadi Party were called to address the false. Home Minister Ramesh writer said that the parties had reached a joint conclusion to protect the constitution. “The current system of governance was obtained through a long struggle. No constitutional activities would be tolerated,” he said. Shakti Basnet, Deputy General Secretary of CPN (Maoist Center), said: “It is time for political parties to engage in serious self-confidence about the tasks that may hurt public sentiments.” Nepal Samajwadi Party President and former PM Babram Bhattarai said that Gyanendra’s actions have started instigating criminals.
Meanwhile, the Restria Prajatantra Party (RPP), which supports restoration of the monarchy and was a part of the opposition, condemned the comment. Central Committee member Binay Rawal said, “We challenge the government to arrest the former king. We are very clear that we should not pull the king into controversy and daily politics. The streets of Kathmandu echoed with the voices of a disappointed nation and said, yet people were looking for the same people in their past.
