New Delhi: Two -time Olympic medalistnerej Chopra and famous biomechanics specialist Dr. Klaus Bartonitz forged one of the most successful athlete-coach partnership. Bartonitz joined Neeraj as a biomechanical expert in February 2019 and later took over as his coach after the exit of the fellow German and Jewelin throw Legend Uve Hon.During his time with Bartonitz, Neeraj won two Olympics and two World Championship medals and successfully defended his Asian Games crown in Hangzo. However, the 27-year-old incomplete in breaking the 90-meter-mark saw him partnered with the veteran Jan Zelezni of the check earlier this year. Recently, Neeraj extended a 90 -meter peak with a throw of 90.23 meters in the Doha Diamond League. Do you think what was the important factor in Neeraj Chopra, which dissolved the 90 meter obstruction?

Neeraj is undergoing training with an absolutely amazing coach (Zelezney). Zelejony and I shared notes and they told me that Neeraj has the ability to realize his dream. Even during the warm-up, Neeraj trains such as they are training for the final. He was disappointed when he came second with his personal best 90 meter throw.I am sure that he can now be 92 meters, 93 meters or, throws 94 meters in the future. He looks in the best shape of his life, away from disturbing waist injury.Who is that IPL player?

So, what has changed for Neeraj? Is this zelezny effect?

Neeraj and I first met Zelezani and even trained together in Potchefstroom (South Africa). Therefore, we both knew his attitude. Neeraj was eager to put him on the board. Zelezny has a simple training philosophy. He focuses on smart training. I did the same with Neeraj for 5-6 years. I cannot see major changes in Neeraj’s attitude. He was knocking at the 90 -meter door. It was about that day and time. With zelezny, all this was about completing some aspects of his run-up, throwing and landing.

When you took over, what was the biggest challenge to you in molding Neeraj into a champion?

The biggest challenge was to find the right training balance that suits their style. I needed to understand that really wanted Whatsure. I worked on his strength, fitness and technology. It is like a car. Not every car can go fast. He was with Neeraj. He simply cannot walk fast and whatever distance wants the spear to the ground. It was about bringing those changes from inside. My work was half with him.

The rehabilitation process included its return from injury in 2019?

It was a shame when Kovid -19 was killed. After this trimming, he was actually in the shape of his life. I can say the same by looking at today’s Neeraj. At that time, he went to South Africa and had only one competition where he threw 87 meters. He was very positive about his opportunities for the Tokyo Olympics. Then the game was postponed. Keeping Neeraj inspired was a big challenge. I was a biomechanics specialist, but with Neeraj, my role completely changed.I became his guide, well-wisher, his go-to-man.
